Born In Fire Feature Film
A FEATURE FILM · CORNWALL · 2026
A FILM BY DAVID SKYNNER · BAFTA WINNER BEST DRAMA
A woman alone in an out-of-season Cornish holiday park. No food, no money, no way out — and the ghost of the man she loved keeping her company.
Born in Fire is a handcrafted feature film about grief, agoraphobia, and what becomes possible when you finally stop holding on. Shooting now in Cornwall.
We are bringing this to Kickstarter on 14 June. Be the first to know — and to back it.
About the Film
Emma is 50, agoraphobic, and hasn’t left her lodge in weeks. The credit card companies are calling. The food is running out. Sam — the man she loved — died six months ago. She still talks to him every night.
In the tradition of Polanski’s Repulsion and Mark Jenkin’s Enys Men — but entirely its own thing. Two cast, one camera, the Cornish coast.
About the Director
David Skynner won a BAFTA for Best Drama for The Giblet Boys on ITV. He teaches screen acting at university level and has written three novels. After twenty years of trying to make a film on his own terms, this is that film — shot with a camera he owns, in a landscape his family is from, with a person he trusts completely.
